Mother of Earth
Mother of Earth
Can you call to us
We need your help
What's wrong with us
We pierce the land for
Monies sake
How much devastation
Can you take
Smoke chokes us, yet still
we breathe
Mudslides, Landslides
up to our knees.
You send us rain
To let us know
That we may not see
another snow
Shaking earth still causes
no pain
Still only we see how much to gain
In weakness we prosper
Through others pain
Greed guides us
Greed leads us
Still not enough
Got to have more that the
other guys stuff
Never satisfied with life's
simple pleasure
The dew in the grass does
little to heal
The man in the suit
needs to make the deal
Soon we'll all learn
what deeds we have wrought
It's the price of our lives
That's the deal that we bought.
